Extraordinary Ordinary was the theme of #BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION 14 on March 29. Five really interesting speakers, one fascinating surprise speaker, an engaging host, and an inspiring young fill-in host. Combine that with a lively, fun (and funny) audience who weren’t afraid to get involved and ask some thought-provoking questions, and well, it was indeed an extraordinary evening.

Read more#BRAINCANDIES SESSION 13 has been a beautiful experiment for two reasons. Reason number 1. For the first time ever, we split the SESSION into two different sub SESSIONS: a STUDIO SESSION and a LIVE SESSION. Reason number 2. We had the youngest speaker ever, the youngest, Stella, was 6 years old, and the oldest one, Rose, was 11 years old.
Read moreOn Thursday November 2nd, we had our #BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION 12, the theme of the evening was this time “Age does not matter”. So many new people showed-up and made themselves protagonists in a very active way. Action speak louder than words they say, but for this time, we can say, pictures speak louder than words.
Read moreThis time it is good to start from the start of the day. As the people who have been to #BRAINCANDIES LIVE at least once before our number 11 SESSION might have noticed, there has been a continuous improvement in the way the technical setup looks. Better lighting for example, and a bigger crew. This time I would like to thanks everyone who is behind this, because as I made clear during our last SESSION, #BRAINCANDIES LIVE is a continuous evolution thanks to input that we get from our audience and speakers, but also from the people behind the scenes. Let’s start with a thank you to Jelle, Salman, Rik, Luca, Sara, Dominique, Keef and of course, Aiman. When we got the feeling that what #BRAINCANDIES LIVE is worth the effort, we smile.

Read moreIt happened again, I was inspired to witness how easy it is to set things into motion. Saturday 24th of June it was the day of #pimpmyclothing. Four awesome tailors were helping passbyers get their hand on a sewing machine to fix clothes, by putting patches, cutting, sewing and create new piece of clothing.
Read moreThe topic of the BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION 10 was Sustainability: People VS Technology, and we had some really inspiring speakers and guests. The goal of our event is always to create a safe environment for people to develop their soft skills and be themselves. This time our host Aiman really challenged the audience to get out of their comfort zone and experience that being the centre of attention is not as scary as you might think. But, even experienced speakers need a moment of creative relaxation sometimes as you can see.

Read moreAround 11 pm of Thursday 26th January we finished our #BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION 8. It was the first time we were “sold out” a week in advance, which makes us realize something big is happening.
Read moreFor any of our 100+ participants, #BRAINCANDIES means something different. Be it a way of relaxing, a place to experience fun and awkward moments, a place where to meet people with a warm heart and a different background, a place to prove themselves, a place to give it a try and listen to others. For us is becoming a way of making new bonds with our humans, new relationship, new friends, new people we can rely on.

Hands down, a lot of things happen during the previous year. Good things. Both in my personal and professional life (isn’t it the same?), as in the ones of my fellow alumni’s, as in the one of the community.
Read moreI have to be honest, I was expecting Bosnia to be different. But that’s what happens when we go to a place we have never been before. We collect information to check whether the stories and the images someone put in our heads are somewhat representative and, guess what, most of the time they are not. Bosnia is a beautiful country, the green and stunning landscapes, the energetic people, the richness of the food.
Read moreOur 6th edition of #BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION was a success. We were in a new location (TAC), we tried a new format with the aim of engaging people even more, we learned a lot and, most importantly, we made people come together, get out of their comfort zone and getting back home not only with more knowledge but also with experience.
Read moreWe often hear about millennials that are not satisfied with their jobs because they are feeling they are not impacting the world the way they would like to. But when I ask them: “How would you like to impact the world?”, the answer is often vague, as if it were a question they rarely accurately reflect on. But what is our definition of “impact”? Let’s begin by substituting it with the word “effect”. Together we will find a way to visualize the “effects” that our “outputs” have on the world. I will spend the next few lines (and your next 5 minutes) to walk together with you through the effects of your work, with the goal of starting a process in your brain to get a broader and clearer picture of what we are actually spending our time, health, talent and, eventually, happiness on.
