Important topics should be discussed among stranger in public
Views&Voices presents a new formula for events, aiming to expand discussions about our future to all interested persons, not only to those who are comfortable with talking in front of crowds. The future does not only concern the natural-born TED-talkers! Striving to reuse the age-old tradition of storytelling, Views&Voices kicked off by using movies as ice-breakers, taking advantage of modern technologies to start the discussion during the movie. Live polling and online discussion platforms like #Slack contribute greatly to hearing everybody’s Voice.
The current Views&Voices event consists of a moderated film event. During the film projection, an interactive element engages the audience and starts the discussion. The results of this interaction are visible on the screen in real-time. After the movie a moderated discussion and informal networking drinks follow.
It makes me feel uncomfortable that stories are not used enough to create a context where anyone feels comfortable and encouraged to discuss topics that impact us all.
My grand vision is to have the format to spread through our cities to engage more people in relevant conversations.
